Geo/SAT stands for Geography for Student Applications and Training.

It is a joint project of the Remote Sensing Task Force of the National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE), Space Imaging EOSAT, and Eidetic. The objective is to provide a series of environmental and satellite-based instructional modules for various high school and undergraduate curricula.

The Geo/SAT project and its components are reviewed starting at page 1217 in the October, 1995, issue of the journal "Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing" published by the American Society for Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing. The software component, PEDAGeOG™, is referenced again in a review of EARTHSCOPE at page 881 in the September, 1998, issue of the same journal.

The Remote Sensing Task Force of the NCGE developed the Teacher's Manuals. EOSAT provided the Scholar Series Landsat Thematic Mapper satellite data for the selected areas. Eidetic developed the PEDAGeOG™ software for the analysis of the satellite imagery. The three components form an inexpensive integrated package.

Five modules are available: Charleston Wetlands; Yellowstone Forest Fires; Persian Gulf Oil Slick; Mississippi Flood; and Chernobyl.
