TEXALL is a transcription program for information recorded on 8 mm Exabyte tapes. In particular, it transcribes satellite data on such tapes to the hard disk on a PC. The data can then be accessed by an application program such as EARTHSCOPE. The software is generic and can be used with many different GIS and remote sensing systems.
It transcribes the data in any format, for example: EOSAT's Fast Format, Radarsat's Fast Format, LGSOWG, EROS NLAPS, Australian, European Space Agency (ESA), CCRS, and Japanese. It completes the transcription in a single reading of the tape.
TEXALL consists of two menu-driven programs. One is used for transcribing the data. The other is used for checking that the Exabyte tape drive and its associated controller are functioning properly.
